Walk-By 21

By Steve Bennett | July 28, 2020

I used to take a lot of photos of people passing by the “$39.99 Walk-In” sign in the window of the message therapy practice near my house. The bold stark letters and contrasting negative space made for an excellent backdrop as people strolled or jogged by. Each person’s stride and posture made their moment in front of the sign unique. Now there’s an added dimension: the mask. The contrast of the sign throws into relief this most unexpected facial attire. Looking forward to photographing regular faces someday in The After. (This post is so named because the women in the photo was the 21st person to pass by the sign while I waited for just the right person at the right moment.)

Walk-ins, walk-bys
