ATK Portraits, Bangkok
By Nathalie Jamois | January 28, 2022
The Khlong Toey slum, south of the expressway and north of the port, is the largest and oldest slum of Bangkok, with up to 1.2 million dwellers. Khlong Toey has always been a stigma of the capital city. During this Covid pandemic, it was only a matter of time before a cluster would emerge. Living in cramped conditions puts one at greater risk for COVID. But with a meagre income, these people do not have a choice of where to live. A charity foundation, Bangkok Community Help, regularly provides free ATK (Antigen Test Kit) testing, food, and health care.
